Our Founder:
Gayle Gallagher is a St. Louis film and video producer, who started in the industry in 1990 doing corporate video.
After 15 years working in the corporate world, Gayle left to pursue creative film work, and to start up her own companies.
She has produced five feature films (DARK AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS, FOUR COLOR EULOGY, SHADOWLAND, CONTAMINATION – A CONVENTION STORY and 23 MINUTE TO SUNRISE), numerous short films, music videos, corporate and non-profit video projects, and she was the producer of the TV show STREETSCAPE. She is also the director and producer of the cooking show BRAIN DEAD AND COOKING. Her fifth feature film, DARK AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS was released in theatres in 2023 and will be available on DVD and Streaming in early 2025.
Gayle is also the co-founder of Pirate Media Group, a film distribution company helping quality indie films to get distribution.
When not working on production, Gayle is networking. She believes it is very important for St. Louis to have a strong, tight-knit film community – a source for film professionals to grow their talent and to know who the resources are in town. It is because of this desire to help the Midwest develop a strong sense of Film Community that Gayle founded Film STL.
